Quick answers
What is the Magpie install command?
On macOS and Linux: curl -fsSL https://usemagpie.ai/install.sh | sh. It installs the magpie command into ~/.local/bin and puts the desktop app in /Applications on macOS or your app menu on Linux. On Windows, magpie.exe takes the same commands, and magpie-cli-windows-amd64.exe from the latest GitHub release is the terminal-only build.
What are Magpie's system requirements?
macOS 11 or later on Apple Silicon or Intel, Windows 10 or later on x64 or ARM, and Linux with GTK 3 plus WebKitGTK 4.1 on x86-64 or ARM64. The desktop app is under 15 MB; the terminal-only build is about 7 MB. The official download page lists macOS 12+ in one place and 11+ in another, so check it before installing on an older Mac.
Which port does the Magpie gateway use?
127.0.0.1:3425. Agents point at http://127.0.0.1:3425/v1, and anything with a base-URL setting can use it through OPENAI_BASE_URL, ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL or GOOGLE_GEMINI_BASE_URL.
Is this the official Magpie documentation?
No. usemagpie.co is an unofficial third-party guide. Magpie is an open-source project by yetone, licensed under MIT; the official site is usemagpie.ai and official builds are published on GitHub.
